Denver, Colorado, has a long history of traditional steakhouses. Troy Guard, the owner and head chef of Guard and Grace, wanted to break with the past and offer a more casual, socially conscious dining experience. He worked with Kimberly Timmons Interiors to create a vibrant, inviting, open-concept design for dining and socializing. Tall ceilings and large windows offer an airy feel, while earthy tones add depth. Eclectic lighting, punchy artwork, and rope details are some of the other unique elements the design team employed to create a novel customer experience. Shelbie, from Evoke’s line of luxury vinyl floors, was installed at various angles throughout the restaurant, adding further visual interest and earning Guard and Grace an award for its innovative design from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
