The Warm a Heart cause attracts hundreds of participants within the local design community. Participants are responsible for customizing cotton tote bags and filling the totes with items for young patients receiving treatment at Denver Health's Pediatric Unit.
This year, over 250 embellished totes were presented to Denver Health representatives at a luncheon at Steelcase's Market Street studio in the heart of Denver's design district. Each one-of-a-kind tote overflowed with thoughtful gifts and supplies suitable for toddlers to teens. The display was a colorful testimony to the community's generosity.
"Warm a Heart is an event that I and other designers look forward to every year," says Ali Pilgrim, architect and design representative at Metropolitan Floors' Denver Studio representative and Warm a Heart Committee member. "It's an opportunity for us to all come together to support a worthy cause and make a tangible difference in local, social, and environmental issues—all of which can lead to a safer, healthier, and more stable community."
Though Warm a Heart is an event inspired by and developed for designers in Denver, Ali has advice for others wanting to make a difference at home: "Find something you have a passion for and invite others to learn more, help, and get involved. Working with a local charity builds positive relationships in the community and creates pride in doing something bigger than ourselves. Plus, it's rewarding and fun!"
Metropolitan would like to acknowledge the following businesses who played an important part in the 10th Annual Warm a Heart by donating supplies, services and more.
